waiting women: 01

Stickers significantly shape urban visual landscapes. They are in front of our eyes: on the back of an auto-rickshaw, inside it ahead of driver's looking glass, on street dividers, on the mirror of street barbers, on tea shops. Themes depicted in these stickers encompass a wide range of cultural and political events, vocabulary and processes: from Kargil war to explicit sexual couplets. The form of these stickers is often standard and these are produced with digital printing tools suggesting its mass production, an organised economy of production and marketing and a consumer base. This image is part of my "waiting women series" purchased from Delhi ( Rs. 3) from a retail seller. Here the caption is "when would you return home".
